Hamid Mir: Media Bully
Commercial media giant GEO TV has launched an attack on a small blog in a disturbing case of media bullying as popular TV Host Hamid Mir and investigative editor for The News Ansar Abbasi lashed out against the blog “Let Us Build Pakistan,” a blog of PPP supporters that was started in 2008 and is run on the free service “Blogger.com“.
Unlike Hamid Mir and GEO TV, “Let Us Build Pakistan” bloggers Abdul, Sarah, Abbas Zaidi and Socrates, are quite transparent about their political affiliation and agenda and do not misrepresent their beliefs. Despite the transparency of the bloggers, these commercial media giants have bashed them for being propaganda.
Unfortunately, the commercial media journalists embarrassed themselves when they accused the bloggers at different times during the show of being both puppets of the President and CIA and Mossad. Of course, the so-called journalists present no evidence of these preposterous claims. The journalists also accuse the bloggers of causing a rift between media and military as if “media” were the government. Note to Mr. Mir and Mr. Abbasi: despite your face being on TV, you are not elected by anyone to any office.
Furthermore, while Mr. Mir and Mr. Abbasi make accusations against these bloggers, they fail to report that it is the commercial media giants that are causing a rift between military and civilian government and threatening to destabilize Pakistan during wartime.
In addition to presenting no facts or evidence for their accusations, Hamid Mir and Ansar Abbasi have engaged in the sort of media bullying that can create a “chilling effect” that results in citizens being afraid to speak their opinions freely. This is a direct assault on the Fundamental Rights of free speech provided in the Constitution.
Every citizen shall have the right to freedom of speech and expression, and there shall be freedom of the press, subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interest of the glory of Islam or the integrity, security or defence of Pakistan or any part thereof, friendly relations with foreign States, public order, decency or morality, or in relation to contempt of court, [commission of] or incitement to an offence.
Other Pakistani bloggers have begun coming to the defense of “Lets Build Pakistan,” in particular the “Views on Pakistan News” blog by Umair Wasi.
At last media has attacked the websites with all their so called “fair journalism” weapons, last night in capital talk that is hosted by Mr. Hamid Mir on “Geo News” with his 3 guests including Nisar Abbasi a “The News” journalist and Mr. Javaid Hashmi of PML(N) and Sumsam Ali Bukhari of PPP, Hamid Mir has exclusively shown the blog Let Us Build Pakistan maintained by my fellow bloggers Abdul Nishapuri, Socrates, Abbas Zaidi & Sarah, Mr. Hamid Mir and Mr. Nisar Abbasi criticized the blog through out the program with all their white journalism’s’ words, Mr. Hamid Mir highlight the program with the tag of “PPP members criticized army and media” and Mr. Nisar Abbasi added the statement that Let Us Build Pakistan is operated from the presidency.
This is not the first time that media is raising fingers on bloggers and webmasters, but the bloggers are ready to face the situation and will not sit quite at this time it will be dealt accordingly.
GEO TV and The News should immediately reprimand their two employees, Hamid Mir and Ansar Abbasi, for their irresponsible acts and poor journalistic ethics. Additionally, GEO TV and The News should require Hamid Mir and Ansar Abbasi to publicly apologize for their unfounded accusations and promise to never again accuse others without presenting any facts.

Mr. Hamid Mir and Mr. Ansar Abbasi should mend their ways and apologize for their unfair, overtly aggressive attitudes.
It is an undeniable fact that no one like the truth to came out publicly which was ink out during the darkness of night.
Whatever, shows or print by these above mentioned two really public demanding ( Poor Pakistanis ) No. 1 choice as they have been bringly the corruptions of biilions of rupees and realy/urly faces of enemies of Pakistan who are plundring the wealth of Pakistani nation by using the power of seats.
However , if anything which you think is wrong then you must bring evidence that no corruption is done by the leaders.
This is 21st century of Internet and things can not be hide as it used to be as beween 1970 to 1990.

we don not know geo is playing its role whatever, but as for as balochistan concern nor Shahid Mashood nor Hamid Mir alongwith ansar abbasi never focussing real baloch issues. Due to army operation most part of the Balochistan specially from dera bugti and other affected areas thousands of people migrated, beside that many young baloch polictical workers missing mysteriously who are still missing and many charged with concocted cases, but ironically the geo who claim to be vital role for restoration of democracy and free judiciary he did not try to appraoch the displace persons and also are no highlighting missing persons cases. if media means it for all but it also feel and seems to be double standard.

Geo a very biased channel with biased anchors…… Just see the pattern of their guest in every programme, be it ” Mery Mutabiq” of Dr. Shahid Masood or Capital Talk of Hamid Mir……
Their guests/political analysts always would include Ansar Abaasi (who is always speaking against Govt). Every body knows his affiliations (with The News = Geo = Jang). One another person who is hero to them “Hameed Gul”, every body knows hameed gul who publically admits what he has done to pakistan politics by creating politicians who served their cause. Hassan Nisar another Geo anchor and anti govt person.
They just want the type of Govt: which suits them. what ever be the consequences. They definitly are hurting the feelings of people of Sindh.
In Last my suggestion to readers is to watch Dawn, Aaj and Dunia News for independent analysis and stories.

Pakistan Zindaabad,
Due to commercial factor, media sells in every part & corner of the world. But for me with all its wrong doings ,media is playing a very positive role by putting presure on politician.
Recent successes of judiciary are directly related to Media presure. otherwise a lot of brutalety was done in Zia-ul-Haq regieme but as electronic media was not that strog at that time . So nothing effected him.
So called media trials are all time high,biased,and unilateral. PPPP aggressive mood is the reactin to all these dam practices (yellow journalism).
Please let the media do its job. If you are correct then why you are crying. Hamid Mir, Ansar Abbasi and Dr Shahid are doing correct and following the right path and if they are exposing the thieves then why you have to worry?

ISLAMABAD: The media once again came under fire in the National Assembly with the outburst of Minister for Sports Ijaz Jhakrani on the issue of a private TV channel report about alleged irregularities in the Ministry of Health during his tenure as health minister.
Without naming the TV channel, Jhakrani said two days back a private TV channel telecast a news about him that he did something wrong during his tenure as the health minister. “It was totally a baseless news by specific anchor of a particular TV channel, who was only criticising the government and giving dates for removal of the government,” he added.
He said he wanted that the Public Accounts Committee chairman, who is also the opposition leader, should constitute a committee to probe affairs of the Health Ministry during his tenure as minister. “I am answerable to Parliament and people of my constituency, not to any anchor,” he added. He said he has served a legal notice to the TV channel and now wanted that the PAC chairman may also constitute a committee to probe the affairs in the Health Ministry during his tenure. However, Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan did not respond to the minister for sports.

It all started after the death of the first Prime Minister of Pakistan Khan Liaqat Ali Khan. Now Pakistan was left to: Dalutans, Noons, Bogra’s and many more to be the ruling elite. The ground work was laid by our founders. The real competition started from Iskander Mirza who was ousted by General Ayub Khan who latter became a victim of Bhutto’s Tashkent cat in the bag syndrome. Bhutto was ousted by Zia who was blown out of the azure sky. Heralding, Benazir Bhutto she was pushed off the chair by Nawaz latter Nawaz was pushed out by Benazir and then Gen Musharraf pushed both of them out. After some time unfortunate Musharraf was pushed out by a Troika of Zardari, Nawaz and friends.
62 years have passed and still we are playing this game and the unfortunate people of Pakistan are in torment at the hands of few. Firstly by Barons then by Industrialists then by Islamic fundamentalists and today by all yet a handful who call themselves politicians? Every one says he or she is the student. Is Pakistan the only university left in the world where all type of students enroll to experiment and then leave the inhabitants in the lurch to grope in darkness while the handful enjoy the musical chair.
It is high time now to put an end to this musical chair competition. I am not a rich person at all infact all I got now lays in complete ruin thanks to these musical chair jokers.
Now they are after the big chair, first they elected him knowing his past and today they are hell bent to boot him out. PLEASE BEAR IN MIND I HAVE NO AFFLIATION WITH ANY PARTY IN DEPTH. I seek help as a Pakistani citizen from legal experts to file a petition in the superior court to put an end to our dilemma. If the gentleman in question is elected let him complete his term wearing one hat. I ask one question who is the person whose hands are not tainted. If you find one then make him the chief otherwise keep your patience. If you want his ill gotten wealth back into the country, then others should also bring back theirs as well.
Today the entire nation is simmering and is reaching the boiling point please do not allow the lid to be blown off for it will not just scald Pakistan but will engulf the entire world this time. Please help and make Pakistan a stable and prosperous country. The people of Pakistan have feelings too. The colour of our blood is also red.
Save us from abject poverty as poverty germinates en-mass nuisance of all diversity. Will you wait till it is a point of no return or you await this to happen then allow someone chop us in small fragments to gobble us and make us slaves to some country or countries.
Some times uttering’s of a fool compel the Wiseman to reflect.
Wake up before the sleep of anonymity takes over.

Most of our media men specially the ones named here are blackmailers.They blackmail politcal personalties,government offiiclas,Banks’ executives,other professionals such as well known practcising doctors,police officials and even Army generals.They have made a lot of moneys through blackmailing.Our parliament and Judiciary should do one thing to enable people to get rid of these black sheep.Parliament should make the law of damages more strengent and the judiciary should give attention to suits filed for claiming damages and should process such cases speadily,only then we can have a fair and free media.
