The News (Jang) reports today that Mr. Ansar Abbasi has been served with legal notice under Section 3 (1) of Defamation Ordinance, 2002 for comments made about Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab on the TV programme ‘Dunya Today.’
She said in a TV programme, ‘Dunya Today,’ telecast on 10th of May, Ansar Abbasi referring to her allegedly uttered words ‘in ka bus chale to humari gardan utaar dein’, (if it was up to her (Ms Fauzia Wahab), she would slit our throats).
“These words were below the civilisation values and immoral, and tantamount to my insult and insult of my party,” she added.
The PPP leader said the media was independent, but it did not mean that ‘irresponsible statements’ should be uttered. She said she was in politics since last 30 years but not a single FIR had been registered against her on criminal or corruption charges. She said under these conditions, Ansar Abbasi’s words were allegedly an assault on her integrity.
I think Ms. Wahab makes an important point: Freedom of media does not grant license to slander and defame people. With freedom comes responsibility. Ansar Abbasi has a long history of professional mistakes, many of which have been catalogued here on this blog. Now, it seems, Mr. Abbasi is being called to account for his words.
Ansar Abbasi responded to the notice saying, in part,
I was making a general and sarcastic statement about the attitude of the government/PPP towards certain journalists, who have been receiving threats and death messages from certain members of the PPP and its government.
If this is true, these journalists should file reports against anyone who is making threats or death messages. Otherwise, it seems to fit the same pattern of Ansar Abbasi in the past in which he makes some general accusations against ‘mystery men’ without providing any names or evidence. Actually, one has to wonder if these people even exist.
It is also unfortunate that throughout his full reply, Mr. Ansar Abbasi cannot even have the character to apologize to Ms. Wahab after he says some nasty and brutish things about her on TV.
It will be up to the proper legal authorities to ultimately decide this case against Ansar Abbasi, but it should be a lesson to other media personalities that proper journalism does not require and should not include nasty personal attacks. If you believe that you must resort to making up attack stories about someone, perhaps you should consider if the problem is actually the weakness of your reporting.

Given that Ansar Abbasi himself is a staunch supporter of the throat slitters (i.e. Taliban), he alleges his political opponents for hatching conspiracies to slit his own threat.
Needless to say, it is Ansar Abbasi’s own biased analyses and reports which are slitting his throat day in and day out. Recently, the people of Pakistan slit his throat in yesterdays’ elections in Muzaffargarh and Vehari.
The people of Pakistan have given their verdict. You are condemned to a life time of disgrace and embarrassment, Mr Abbasi.
It was also interesting to read Ansar Abbasi’s innocent response to the notice which has been published in his newspaper. “I was making a general and sarcastic statement about the attitude of the government/PPP towards certain journalists, who have been receiving threats and death messages from certain members of the PPP and its government. I was in no way implying that Ms Wahab had a criminal record or any personal vendetta against me or intended to harm me personally.”
Well done Ms. Fauzia Wahab. You have the courage to at least stand up to these prophets of doom who can write whenever and whatever they want. It would be interesting to see what he responds to in his reply, which is required to be submitted in 14 days time. I am sure, his friends in media i.e. Tariq Butt, Shahid Masood, Kamran Khan and his colleagues in The News Umar Cheema, Ahmad Noorani etc will turn more aggressive against Fauzia Wahab and the PPP in the upcoming days.

Shibli Naimani [Former Assistant of Deviant Sir Syed Ahmed Khan] in Al Farroq compiled many incidents based on false narrations. I have read History by Ibn Khaldun, Tabaqat Ibn Saad, Tabari, and Al Bidaya Wal Nihaya and haven’t found any such narrations.
Regarding Fiqh as per Hujjatul al Baligha by Shah Waliullah: For more than 2 centuries Muslims used to follow Quran and Sunnah directly without any Fiqh interpretation. Fiqh comes much later. Fiqh means understanding of Deen not Maslak like Fiqh Hanafi etc.etc.

3 – Meezan ul Aitidal by Imam Zahbi.
4 – Kitabul Maudhuat by Abul Faraj ibn Al Jawzi.
5 – Tadhkirrah al-Mawdoo’aat Wal-Dhu’afaahas by Allamah Muhaddith Tahir Patni.
6 – Al Tareekh Al Kabeer by Imam Bukhari [May Allah have mercy on his soul].
7 – Al-La’aali’ al-Masnoo’ah fi’l-Ahaadeeth al-Mawdoo’ah by Jalaluddin Al-Suyuti.

While discussing Pakistani Politics in his column Zero Point which Mr. Javed Chaudhry file in a RAG” Express News, and like a born again Islamic Revivalist Mr. Javed has quoted an incident which is nothing but a flagrant lie [read the background of Concocted Story after the quote of Javed] on Hazrat Omar Bin Khattab [May Allah be pleased with him] “that he whipped his own son for the sake of upholding the Law and Justice”. May the readers know as to who was the son, what was his name, from where he got the reference and how authentic the reference is? Chain of Narration and Narrators:
Muhammad Bin Ubaidullah Asadi, Abu Abdullah Hasan Bin Ali [both are unknown - Majhoolul Hal] and last narrator died 126 Hijri. Saeed Bin Masrooq was a pupil of Imam A’amash and Father of Sufiyan Thauri, never saw or met any Companion of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH], and Chain of narration is missing in the start rather broken. Sufiyan Thauri was an Scholar of Kufa, a Traditionalist (Muhaddith) and expret on Hadith and also an expert of Asma-ur-Rijal (the unique art of research on people). Another narrator is Abdul Quddus Bin Hajjaj who narrated it through Safwan and narrators are Kazzab (Flagrant and Ppathological Liars) and not even worth to be quoted for any narration. Yesterday Jang group published an article in which they claimed that more fake tapes would soon be coming out against senior Jang group journalists. It claimed that several journalists including Ansar Abbasi and Saaleh Zafar were on a “government hit list”.
However what these Jang group journalists don’t seem to realize is that every day their own actions and words in the media damn them. They don’t need any government conspiracy to reveal their reality. Just as Hamid Mir has been accused of inciting violence against Khalid Khawaja which directly lead to his death, Ansar Abbasi too is openly inciting violence against Fauzia Wahab. There is no difference between their actions. He (along Ahsan Iqbal of PML-N) deliberately baited her on “In Focus With Kamran Yousuf” (on Friday May 21) and himself introduced the comparision between the situation of Hazrat Umar (RA) and President Zardari. After that he made sure that he publicized her words and wrote an inflammatory article against her published in The News (on Monday May 24) (” Fauzia brings in Islam to defend Zardari”).
